Sketching ideas for how the Chable will function and the spatial dimensions. Comparing pencil sketches with furniture standard dimensions, then challenging the structural integrity of various cardboard mockups. Once kinks were resolved, modeling the Chable virtually helped for realizing scale and proximity relationships.
To help myself generate ideas, I began to observe small little problems that furniture could solve. After generating a few ideas, I found that combining the problem with methodologies and tools helped create interesting results. The card deck was born to help the ideation process by combining movements, problems, and tools/materials in different ways to explore new outcomes and solutions.
Often times assembling or constructing furniture can be intimidating especially when referencing instructions without written language or demonstration. Some short animations help guide builders through the constructions process. These animations are accompanied by instructions either for print or through the external site.
